CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Churches and towns across the area are hosting Easter egg hunts Saturday.

Mission 217 Church in Kannapolis is putting on a big event from 2- 4 p.m. today. It will be at the Village Park Amphitheater.

It's open to kids in pre-school through 5th grade. Organizers say they'll have more than 20,000 eggs and lots of great prizes.

Folks in Huntersville are invited out to the annual community Easter egg hunt at Rural Hill. That's going on from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. There will be spoon races, balloon tosses, pictures with the Easter bunny and of course, an egg hunt.

In Rock Hill, the Mount Prospect Baptist Church Youth Ministry is hosting a spring festival. It will be at the church from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. There will be games, face-painting, and even a fire truck.
