LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. – A man is facing charges after trying to break into his neighbor’s home, authorities said.

The neighbor called police Saturday morning after hearing someone at her garage door followed by breaking glass.

When deputies arrived they found Jacob Todd Gladden, 38, standing by a fence.

Gladden told authorities that he decided to cut across his neighbor’s back yard.

As for that broken glass, authorities said Gladden told them the neighbor’s dog attacked him and he threw a rock that broke the glass window.

Gladden is now facing first degree burglary charges, he’s being held at the Crouse Detention Center.  His bond was set at $50,000.
