SALISBURY, N.C. -- A man is accused of robbing a Rowan County nightclub and assaulting a female employee on Sunday night.
Salisbury police charged 50-year-old Barry Dean Bledsoe with two counts of armed robbery; two counts of kidnapping; two counts of assault with a deadly weapon; drug possession; carrying a concealed weapon; possession of drug paraphernalia; and assault on a female.
Authorities were called to Nicole's on S. Main Street around 11 p.m. after the club reported a robbery.
Employees provided a description of the suspect and his vehicle, and police spotted a vehicle that fit the description of the suspect’s a few moments after the robbery. Bledsoe was taken into custody after the traffic stop.
The female employee, who was assaulted during the robbery, identified Bledsoe as the man who had robbed the club.
The woman told police Bledsoe attacked her and attempted to take her into the woods behind the club.
Authorities were able to search Bledsoe's car where they found money and other items taken during the robbery. They also found a weapon in the car.
Bledsoe is being held under a $1 million bond in the Rowan County Jail.
