CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are on the lookout for a man who cut off his electronic monitoring device on Friday.

Police said Jorge Sosa cut off his electronic monitoring device and was last seen near Southhampton Road in the Steele Creek neighborhood.

Sosa is wanted by the Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT) on outstanding warrants for felony breaking and entering a motor vehicle and interfering with an electronic monitoring device.

Sosa is the seventh offender monitored by CMPD to cut a monitor off in 2013 which is equal to the number of monitors cut off at this time is 2012.

All of the offenders who previously cut their monitors off have been captured.
