HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. -- Savannah the eagle cleverly announced via her Twitter account she laid her first egg at the Carolina Raptor Center on Wednesday.

Cameras were rolling in Huntersville as she hunched down in her nest and pushed out her first egg at 4:07 p.m. Wednesday, with Derek alongside watching.

Thanks to a partnership between the Carolina Raptor Center and WCNC, throughout the next few months, you will be able to watch these two sit on the nest, hatch and raise their young.
