CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A fire at the Reafield Village apartment complex in southeast Charlotte left no injuries but left some residents without a place to stay Wednesday night.

Emergency crews responded to the fire just before 7 p.m. They arrived to find heavy smoke and fire engulfing part of the complex in the 6400 block of Raefield Drive.

It took 44 firefighters to put out the flames in 18 minutes, according to Charlotte Fire Department officials.
