YORK, S.C. -- No students were injured in a school bus accident in York County on Wednesday morning.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol said the accident happened around 8 a.m. on Highway 557 at Kingsbury Road.
Troopers said a Chevrolet SUV was sitting at the light, preparing to make a right when the school bus struck the rear of the SUV. The driver of the SUV was taken to Carolinas Medical Center.
There were nine students on the bus at the time of the accident. The bus driver was cited for driving too fast.
The students were from the York County School District.
Crews were able to clear the scene quickly and traffic is moving again on Highway 557.
