7 injured in accident on Woodlawn Road

CHARLOTTE, N.C. --  Seven people, including two teens from Myers Park High School, were injured in an accident in south Charlotte Tuesday morning.

A black SUV overturned on East Woodlawn Road near Park Road around 7:15 a.m. Firefighters had to free an occupant from the vehicle.

A car was also involved in the accident and was knocked off the road and down an embankment.

MEDIC said three victims have injuries described as life-threatening and four victims have injuries described as non life-threatening. 

CMPD told officials from Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools that two teens from Myers Park High School were among the injured.

The two teens suffered non-life threatening injuries, according to CMS officials.

Part of Woodlawn, near the Park Road Shopping Center, was blocked while emergency crews worked the scene.

Police were able to reopen the road about 8:45 a.m.
