MOORESVILLE, N.C. – A pedestrian rescued after being pinned underneath a vehicle in Mooresville Monday afternoon died in the hospital, officials say.

Emergency first responders were called out to the scene at Lowe’s in Mooresville in the 500 block of Rivery Highway just after 1:45 Monday.

Officials in Iredell County say the man was flown from the scene to Carolina’s Medical Center for treatment, where he later died.

The victim has been identified as 72-year-old Kenneth Hoffman.

It has not been determined if the driver, 41-year-old Bonifacio Perez, will be charged.

The investigation continues.
