Police: E. Charlotte shooting related to morning robbery

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said one person was shot in east Charlotte on Monday morning.

Police were called to the 7100 block of Marlbrook Drive after one person was shot around 10 a.m.

CMPD says a person was robbed in the 5900 block of  Farm Pond Lane on Monday morning. A witness to the Farm Pond Lane robbery located the suspect vehicle from the incident on Marlbrook Drive.

The suspect then shot the witness and fled the scene in a four-door, black Honda Accord with South Carolina plates.

Medic said the victim was taken to Carolinas Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

No arrests have been made. Police are searching the area for the suspect.
