CHESTER, S.C. -- A teenager hired a classmate and another man to murder his grandparents for $5,000 on Tuesday, according to the Chester County Sheriff's Office.
Jimmie Dianne Paul, 59, was pronounced dead from a gunshot wound in the kitchen of her home on Williamsville Church Road around 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday.

Authorities said Paul's grandson, Clayon Eli Watts, hired classmate Marquaes Issale Eric Buchanan, 18, and Shaiderius Demarck Cohen, 19, to kill both his grandparents because they were too strict.

Watts hatched the plan before Christmas and told Buchanan he would pay him $5,000 to kill both grandparents. Buchanan then recruited Cohen to help, according to police.

On Tuesday, Watts contacted Buchanan and Cohen and made arrangements to pick them up in town. Watts gave them guns from his grandparent's house, according to the sheriff's office.

They went to Watts' grandparent's home and waited for them to arrive. Watts' grandfather arrived at home first but went to his barn to work on a boat instead of going inside the house, according to the Sheriff's Office.

A few moments later, Paul, Watts' grandmother, arrived home and walked into her kitchen where she was shot three times by Cohen, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Both Cohen and Buchanan ran from the home after the shooting and were arrested a short time later.

Watts was in his room acting like he was asleep during the whole incident, the Sheriff's Office said.

Watts, Buchanan and Cohen were both charged in connection with the killing of Paul, who for three years worked in the Clerk of Court's office.

Carlisle Roddey, county supervisor and a family friend, said the couple adopted and raised Watts, who just turned 17 last month.

All three suspects were denied bond.  They are expected to appear in court again in March.
