CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are looking for an attempted rapist in the Seversville neighborhood of west Charlotte.

Bruns Academy near Tuckaseegee Road was locked down Monday afternoon when an alleged sexual assault happened in some nearby woods.

NewsChannel 36 has learned the victim is not a student and police believe a homeless man may be responsible for the attack.

He's described as a skinny black man, about 5’10 and was seen wearing a dark shirt and royal blue pants.  The man was last seen near Bruns Avenue.

If you have any information that can help lead to an arrest you are asked to call police immediately.
