KANNAPOLIS, N.C. – The bomb squad deemed a suspicious package to be safe following an investigation in Kannapolis.
Rowan-Cabarrus Community College went on lockdown around 3 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, about an hour after an employee found a suspicious package in the parking lot of the Cloverleaf Plaza.
The woman told police she noticed a briefcase she didn’t recognize underneath her car.
The shopping complex was evacuated.
The Rowan-Cabarrus Community College campus in the plaza cancelled classes Wednesday evening during the investigation. The cancellations are still in effect.
All Cloverleaf classes are expected to resume Thursday morning.
No other Rowan-Cabarrus campuses are affected.
