CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Charlotte Fire Department's Haz-Mat team responded to a natural gas leak on Wednesday morning.

Authorities say the breach happened near the intersection of Cameron Valley Parkway and Coltsgate Road around 11:30 in south Charlotte.

The site is just north of Fairview Road, south of Morrison Boulevard, between Sharon Road and  Colony Road.

Due to repairs, fire officials recommended motorists avoid the area, until the intersection was reopened about 5 p.m. Wednesday.
