HEATH SPRINGS, S.C. -- A Lancaster County man was hospitalized with a gunshot wound after being jumped and robbed at his home on Friday night, officials say.

Around 9 p.m. Friday, Lancaster County Sheriff's Deputies responded to the home on Mt. Carmel Road in Heath Springs to find the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the arm.

The victim told deputies that man knocked on his door and claimed his vehicle had broken down. The victim said there was a dark SUV parked down the street with its hazard lights flashing.

The victim opened the door and walked into his front yard, then, he told deputies, that four men dressed in all black jumped from behind the bushes, and a shot was fired. He also reported that the men demanded cash from him.

The victim then fled to his neighbor's house and called 911, and was then transported for treatment of his injuries to a local hospital.
