CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- All four budget proposals presented Wednesday at a Charlotte City Council budget workshop include tax hikes.

The increases range from around $55 to $80 dollars a year for the owner of a $200,000 home.

The city is currently hammering out budget priorities and funding scenarios. The budget has to be approved later this summer.

Officials say not approving a tax increase this year will lead to an even bigger tax increase in 2014 if a tax hike is not approved in 2013.
