CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Traffic was brought to a halt Tuesday afternoon when a vehicle crashed into a utility pole in southwest Charlotte.
The incident took place around 5:15 p.m. on South Tryon Street just south of Steele Creek Road near Lake Wylie.
One vehicle hit the power line in front of a fire station, forcing the pole and power lines to fall into the street. The vehicle came to a halt after crossing the street and ramming into a few parked cars.
It's unclear what forced the driver to hit the pole, and there were no reported injuries. South Tryon Street was reopened just before 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.
