Rea at Colony Road
CHARLOTTE, N.C. --CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The plug had to be pulled on two road construction signs in south Charlotte Wednesday morning after hackers changed their message.
The signs were broken in to at Rea and Colony roads.
Instead of useful information, one displayed a racial slur, and the other displayed a four letter curse word.
The city had the issue fixed by 8 a.m., and officials said they're still trying to figure out who did it.
Another similar incident actually happened on the same exact date one year ago.
On July 18 2011, someone in Union County changed a road sign there to read "Impeach Obama."
In March of 2011 someone also changed a York County sign to say “Zombies ahead.”
