CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The driver of a van that struck and killed a woman walking with her husband at a Cotswold intersection Wednesday morning has been charged and arrested.
Marianne Oberg, 62, was hit by a white van making a left turn at the intersection of North Sharon Amity Road and Addison Road shortly before 10 a.m. Wednesday. Oberg was rushed to a nearby hospital but died about five hours later, though her husband was not hurt.
The driver, 20-year-old Kelvin Alexis Garcia Guardado, was arrested Wednesday night and is charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle.
Officials said speed and alcohol were not factors in the incident.
