GASTONIA, N.C. -- Find favorite Girl Scout cookies without leaving the car as Girl Scouts Carolinas Peaks to Piedmont conducts a drive-through cookie booth from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Saturdays, February 19, 26, March 5 and 12 at the Gastonia Service Center at 250 S. New Hope Road.
Customers can also purchase an extra box to benefit Operation Sweet Treat, a council-wide service project to collect 12,000 boxes of cookies and 1,000 letters of encouragement to place in care packages that will be shipped to U.S. military personnel serving in the United States and abroad.
New this year to the lineup of available treats is Shout Outs!, a Belgian-style wafer cookie. In addition, Girl Scouts will be selling favorite treats like the Thin Mint and Shortbreads, along with other great timeless classics like Caramel deLites, Peanut Butter Patties and Peanut Butter Sandwiches. Plus, the product line includes new classic varieties such as Thanks-A-Lots and Lemonades.
Girl Scouts that participate in the cookie program will gain essential life skills such as goal setting, business ethics, money management, decision-making and people skills -- all of which help girls in their future, whatever they choose to do. Participation ultimately furthers the Girl Scout mission which is to build girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place.
The price per box is $4, and all of the proceeds generated from the Girl Scout Cookie Program stay within the girls’ local area to help fund girl-led programming.
