GASTONIA, N.C. – A Gaston County jury spent their first full day trying to decide if convicted killer Danny Hembree should live or die.
Hembree was convicted last week of the murder of 17-year-old Heather Catterton in October of 2009.
The jury came back into the courtroom to ask to see the lengthy files of Hembree's medical records.
The defense says Hembree should be spared because he has serious medical issues while the prosecution says Hembree knew right from wrong and should get the death penalty.
The jury will continue sentencing Friday.
