GASTONIA, N.C. -- Gastonia police are searching for a suspect in an armed robbery inside a Walmart on Tuesday evening.

The robbery occured around 9 p.m. Tuesday in Money Center of the Walmart on East Franklin Street. Police said the suspect walked into the store and put some items in a shopping cart before going to the Money Center. There, police said, he robbed the center’s clerk at gunpoint before running out of the store.

No injuries were reported.

Police described the suspect as a black male, 6-foot-2 and 180 pounds, with long dread locks. He was wearing a blue hoodie, khaki shorts, a hat and sunglasses, police said.

Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to call Gastonia Police at (704) 866-6880 or Crime Stoppers of Gaston County at (704) 861-8000. Crime Stoppers offers rewards of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
