HICKORY, N.C. -- Elisa Baker is expected to appear in court later this week on drug charges.
Baker's plea hearing is set for Thursday in U.S. District Court, according to the Hickory Daily Record.
Baker's attorney has filed paperwork for a plea deal in the federal case against her in late December.
She is accused of selling pills in Catawba and Caldwell counties. Back in May a jury indicted Baker on seven counts of drug trafficking.
The combined charges could carry a 60-year jail sentence and a fine of $2.25 million.
Baker was sentenced to up to 18 years in prison for the murder of her disabled 10-year-old stepdaughter, Zahra Baker.
