HICKORY, N.C. -- A Hickory man faces drug charges after he's accused of hiding heroin inside a bag of hash browns in his freezer.
The Burke County Sheriff's Office charged Kevin Franklin England, 44, with trafficking heroin and possession of a firearm by a felon.
Authorities said they arrested England earlier this week after executing a search warrant at his apartment.
During the search, investigators "located a freezer compartment of the refrigerator, a large quantity of heroin in a plastic bag containing hash browns," according to the police report.
Authorities also found a large amount of money and two firearms in England's bedroom, according to the report.
England is being held at the Burke Catawba District Confinement Facility under a $10,000 secured bond. The amount of bond was due to his medical issues, police said.
Additional arrests and charges are pending as the investigation continues.
