LINCOLNTON, N.C. -- Lincoln County deputies say they found 17 pounds of powder cocaine inside a hidden compartment of an abandoned SUV.
The sheriff's office says it is the largest cocaine seizure in the county's history.
The 2004 Jeep Liberty was found along Buffalo Shoals Road at about 5:30 a.m. Saturday. When deputies examined the SUV, they found a hidden compartment containing the cocaine.
Investigators said the street value of the cocaine is about $250,000.
After finding the drugs, deputies searched a mobile home along Buffalo Shoals Road and found 1/4 ounce of powder cocaine and a cocaine press. Deputies say the home also had a hidden compartment inside a false wall.
No one has been arrested in the case, but deputies say they have identified the renter of the mobile home.
