LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. -- Lincoln County authorities are looking for a man wanted in connection with the armed robbery of a convenience store Sunday night south of Lincolnton.

The sheriff's office says a clerk at Ricky's Food Mart, in the 1800 block of Gastonia Highway, told them a gunman robbed the store around 9:30 p.m. The clerk said the man, wearing a dark blue hoodie, entered the store, tapped a silver-colored handgun on the counter, and demanded money from the cash register.

Deputies say the clerk was ordered to put the money in a bag, but the clerk said she did not have a bag. So the man grabbed the money, told another person in the store not to move, and ran out. Deputies say they are not sure if the gunman ran off or drove away.

The suspect is described as a white male, about 5 feet 10, with a slim build. Anyone with information in the case is asked to call 704-732-9050.
