DENVER, N.C. -- Authorities say a disgruntled woman who was recently fired from her job decided to take it out on her former employee by ramming her car into the business.

Tuesday afternoon, Lincoln County Sheriff's Deputies responded to the Tutor Time Day Care Center and found damage done after a vehicle has smashed into the double metal and glass doors at the front of the business.

Amy Susan Fier, 60, left the scene, authorities say, but was stopped a short distance away from the day care.

The Sheriff's Office says Fier's car was covered with pieces of glass from the shattered doors.

Although several children were in the lobby at the time of the crash, mo one was injured in the incident.

The damage to the building is estimated at $3,000.

Deputies responded to a disturbance call at the day care about 30 minutes before the vehicle came crashing through the lobby, the Sheriff's Office says.

Fier was arrested and charged with one count each of assault with a deadly weapon, second degree trespassing, communicating threats and injury to real property.
