LINCOLNTON, N.C. – A routine traffic stop led Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputies to the arrest of a wanted sex offender they have been searching for since July of 2010.
According to the police report, officers pulled over a van and arrested two men, including 45-year-old Van Williams on Iron Station. Police say Williams initially gave them a different name but later admitted who he was and that there was a warrant out for his arrest.
Police have been searching for Williams since July of 2010 for failing to verify a change of address since he was a registered sex offender.
Williams, who was the passenger in the car, is at the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center under a $8,500 bond.
The driver, 28-year-old Brandon Chanel Little of Charlotte, was charged with possession of a firearm by a felon and carrying a concealed weapon after officers found a gun under a seat in the car. Little is in jail under a $11,000 secured bond.
The car was pulled over after police noticed a light on the license plate was out.
