LINCOLNTON, N.C. – A Lincoln County woman was arrested Thursday for having a Facebook account even though she is a registered sex offender.
According to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, 21-year-old Amanda Flowers was arrested at her home on Hubbard Street in Lincolnton after police received a tip that she had a Facebook page.
It is a felony for a registered sex offender to use a social website.
Flowers was also charged with a probation violation, a misdemeanor offense.
The woman was taken into jail at the Haven A. Crouse Detention Center without bond and is due in court Friday.
