MATTHEWS, N.C. -- An employee at the Chipotle Restaurant in Matthews was injured during a robbery on Thursday night.

Matthews police said two armed men robbed the Chipotle at Matthews Festival Shopping Center around 10:30 p.m.

Only four employees were in the restaurant at the time. Two employees escaped out the back door of the restaurant, police said.

One employee suffered minor injuries and was treated and released from the hospital, according to police.

The first suspect is described as a black man about 6-feet-1 and weighing 150 pounds.

He was wearing a New York Yankees cap, white framed sunglasses, white shirt with a checkered design and jeans.

The second suspect is also a black man standing about 5-foot-11 and scaling 175 pounds. He was wearing a red short sleeve t-shirt with stripes, dark jeans and had dreadlocks

The two suspects fled the scene on foot.
