MATTHEWS, N.C. -- A man is in the hospital after he flipped his car over in Matthews early Thursday morning.
The accident happened around 2:30 a.m. on Phillips Road. Matthews police said the car took out a fence and fire hydrant before landing on its hood in a front yard.
The police also said speed and alcohol may have played a part in the crash.
The driver is expected to recover.
