MATTHEWS, N.C. – A Matthews church helped clean up and refresh the town this weekend.

Over 200 volunteers from Caramel Baptist Church worked on Saturday to replace fencing, help gardens, remove debris and plant and trim trees at the Matthews Community Center, Four Mile Creek Greenway and the community garden.

This is a great partnership with the town and the church and we appreciate all of their hard work,” said city mayor Jim Taylor.

This was the second time the group teamed up with the city to work on several beautification projects.
