CHARLOTTE, N.C. – One of Charlotte’s most recognizable food stops will be featured on national television Wednesday.
The 58-year-old Penguin Drive-In in Plaza Midwood will be showcased during an episode of ‘Man V Food Nation’ on the Travel Channel.
Host Adam Richman travels to various eateries around the country and helps a local eater devour a food challenge at the restaurant.
On Wednesday’s episode Richman and a challenger will attempt to eat the $8 Penguin Double-Pounder, which isn't even listed on the regular menu. The meal includes four half-pound burger patties with Pimento cheese and fried pickles between buns.
Richman and TV crews came to film the episode last November. The episode airs Wednesday at 9 p.m.
