CHESTER, S.C. – A small World War II replica plane crashed in Chester Thursday afternoon.

The Murphy Renegade Bi plane went down off of Highway 9 at Mt. Ararant Church Road near Richburg.

The pilot was the only person on board, and he was not hurt in the incident.

The plane is registered to an elderly Rock Hill man, according to the manager of the Chester County Airport.
