ROCK HILL, S.C. -- A Rock Hill man was sentenced to 30 years in prison on Monday for the murder of his ex-girlfriend back in May 2011.
Carl White, 29, pleaded guilty to shooting his ex-girlfriend, Charlette Robinson, to death during an argument on May 21. White also fled the shooting scene with their 2-year-old son, prompting officials to issue an Amber Alert.
White and his son were found in Aiken, S.C. a few hours after he murdered Robinson.
White also pleaded guilty to possession of a weapon during a violent crime and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
The 30-year sentence White received is the minimum for murder in the state of South Carolina.
