ROCK HILL, S.C. -- A resident of a Rock Hill apartment complex is charged with arson after a fire destroyed several units in her building.

The fire happened last week at Oak Hollow Apartments near Finley Road and South York Avenue.

Investigators now say Suyatta Johnson, 27, is responsible for the fire. She reportedly told Rock Hill police she fell asleep while drinking alcohol and holding a lit cigarette.

Johnson is charged with second-degree arson and attempted murder. Johnson does have a criminal history.

Dozens of people were displaced by the fire. No one was hurt, but some of the residents, including a pregnant woman, had to leap from the building to escape the flames.
