CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Charlotte Assistance League received a large donation thanks to generous community members.

La-Z-Boy Furniture collected 50 pieces through its bi-annual trade-in sale. The store issued allowances to customers who donated gently used furniture in the last month.

La-Z-Boy dropped off all the donations, as well as cash gifts, to the non-profit this week.

Since the trade-in program began in 2006, La-Z-Boy has collected more than $114,000 for local charities and delivered 55 tractor-trailer loads of gently used merchandise totaling 3,025 pieces of furniture.
