CHARLOTTE, NC – The reward for information about a fatal hit-and-run collision in April has been doubled.

The Charlotte Area Bicycle Alliance and Crime Stoppers have teamed up to offer $2,000 for information leading to the arrest of the driver that hit Edward Hedrick III, 29, after he fell off his bicycle and lay in the road.

The incident occurred on Poindexter Drive in the Sedgefield neighboorhood before the driver continued driving towards South Boulevard.

The road is commonly used as a cut-through between Park Road and South Boulevard and drivers are said to often ignore the posted speed limit of 25 mph.

Police say they are looking for an older model Toyota Tercel or Toyota Corolla silver or light blue colored. There is minor damage to the front end of the vehicle.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
