Design Center of the Carolinas winning artwork installed on SouthEnd water tower.

                                        
WHAT:  The Design Center of the Carolinas (DCC) and Ram Realty Services, in partnership with Carolina Pad, will install the winning artwork on the 120’ landmark water tower.  The public generated more than 17,000 votes for the entries and Jane’s Dancing Addiction won with the most votes. Artist Ashley Plyler won $1,000 and selected McClintock Middle to receive $5,000 in school supplies from Carolina Pad.

WHERE:  Design Center of the Carolinas at 1930 Camden Road, Charlotte

WHY:  The Design Center of the Carolinas second annual Charlotte’s Highest Design Contest drew a dozen entries for the opportunity to win $1,000 and display the art.  The trademark water tower is also a landmark of Historic South End and a symbol of its urban redevelopment.
