CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Mecklenburg County could open a new off road bike course minutes away from SouthPark Mall.

Not everyone is happy about it because neighbors already know about the trails along Sugar Creek behind the waste water treatment plant at Tyvola Road and Park Road.

They consider it a secret gem and also worry about security at their homes if more people are drawn to the area.

A public meeting is being held Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m. at the Marion Diehl Senior Center on Tyvola Road.
