CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A cyclist was taken to the hospital following a wreck with a school bus Wednesday afternoon.

Medics say the bicyclist collided with a CMS bus in the 2900 block of Old Steele Creek Road just before 3 p.m.

The cyclist was taken to Carolinas Medical Center for life-threatening injuries, according to medics. Police say he lost control and ran into the bus.

Eighteen students from Harding High School were on board the bus at the time of the wreck. No one on the bus was hurt.
