Here is a quick look back to the cool conditions of this past March. It was the 6th coldest March on record for Charlotte and the coldest since 1969.

The average high temperature last month was 46.1 or 5.1 degrees below normal.

Most of the eastern half of the United States experienced below normal temperatures.

There was less severe weather than usual and that can be related to the cool weather pattern.

Preliminary numbers show only 15 tornadoes were reported in the U.S. this March. That is the lowest March tornado total also since 1969.

Temperatures for April will be getting warmer as temperatures warm up to 75 for a normal high by the end of the month. Nighttime average low temperatures will rise to 51 by the end of April.
