CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A Charlotte neighborhood near Uptown is making way for another apartment complex.
Developers of “Yards at NoDa” officially broke ground Wednesday.
The 350 unity complex is being built on East 33rd Street.
The developer says the community is going up right next to the future Light Rail extension, which was important to choosing the right spot to build. The extension is expected to be up-and-running in NoDa in 2017. The new apartment complex will open next spring.
The recession put a freeze on previous plans to develop lots in the area.
