CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte Mayor Anthony Foxx will join Charlotte Motor Speedway officials as several cars from the world's only collection of street-legal bumper cars will make an appearance in uptown Charlotte Tuesday, ahead of the Aug. 26-29 Food Lion AutoFair at the speedway.
The vehicles will be parked in Independence Plaza on the corner of Trade and Tryon Streets during the lunch hour for fans to enjoy and will be driven around the plaza by VIPs. The bumper cars will be the centerpiece attraction in the Food Lion AutoFair’s Showcase Garage.
Media and fans in attendance will also get a chance to sample the new concession being offered exclusively at the Food Lion AutoFair: Mac Daddy Dogs. The fun fair food is a hot dog encased in macaroni pasta and pimento cheese, then coated in a panko breadcrumb crust and deep fried. Samples will be available while supplies last.
