CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte police are investigating a Tuesday morning home invasion near Johnson C. Smith University.

The break-in took place in the 300 block of Frazier Avenue just south of JCSU by West 5th Street.

Two gunmen awoke homeowner Andre Cunningham with two loud kicks at the door and stole Cunningham's car, a laptop, TV, shoes and his wallet.

"They were in the house probably about 10 minutes,"Cunningham said.  "They just picked my house out of the blue."

No one was hurt during the break-in.

Cunningham hopes police can find the car because he needs it to get to work.  He added he will be better prepared in the future.

"I'm going to get me a gun.  I'm going to protect myself," said Cunningham.
