CHARLOTTE, N.C. – It’s now been exactly one year since Charlotte found out it will host the Democratic National Convention in September of 2012.
On Tuesday the Charlotte in 2012 Host Committee announced details about a number of venues around town that will be set up around Charlotte for politicians, supporters, donors and visitors.
A big media event will take place at the NC Music Factory.
There are a dozen other spots around town, including the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art, Carolina Raptor Center, The Charlotte Museum of History, Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden, Discovery Place, Duke Mansion, Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts + Culture, Levine Museum of the New South, Mint Museum Uptown, NASCAR Hall of Fame, U.S. National Whitewater Center and Wadsworth Estate.
Convention festivities begin on September 3 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The Democratic National Convention comes to order the next day at Time Warner Cable Arena.
President Obama will accept the Democratic nomination on Thursday, September 7 at Bank of America Stadium.
