WEDDINGTON, N.C. -- Firefighters from numerous departments had to help put out a large house fire in Weddington Thursday evening.
The Union County fire marshal is investigating the fire on Ennis Road that left a home valued at nearly $1 million almost destroyed.
Firefighters said the fire started in the garage around 5:30 p.m. when a man was working on his car. The fire quickly spread to the rest of the house.
Two people were home when the fire started but were not hurt.
