WAXHAW, N.C.-- The Museum of the Waxhaws will be hosting two fun-filled events on Saturday, August 13, 2011. The day will start off bright and early at 8:00 am at the Museum for the 1st Annual Corn Hole Tournament. Hurry and get your best beanbag tossers together because registration will be limited to 16 teams.
Players are eligible for some great prizes, including an Amelia Island getaway and gift certificates for local businesses (not to mention a trophy and bragging rights for the winners…).
There is a $50 fee per team to compete. To register, or help sponsor this event, please contact Brett Diller at 704-488-6582 or email@example.com, or Tim Giovaniello at 704-962-7639 by August 1.
In the evening, put on your dancing shoes and come on down to Jackson Jam for dinner and music under the stars. The festivities will begin at 7:00 pm at the museum’s amphitheatre and will feature Jan Ringeling and Walter Phillips with Underground Owls.
Tickets are $50 per person. Price includes dinner, beer or wine, and non-alcoholic beverages. For tickets, please call the Museum at 704-843-1832. The event is being generously supported by several local businesses and organizations, including CMC Union Hospital and the Union County Arts Council.
“The amphitheatre is a unique part of the museum grounds, and we’re very excited about opening up this venue to the community,” said Museum Board President Sandra Secrest Glenn. “We look forward to making this space available for other artistic and cultural events, and we’re thrilled to have so much help from local sponsors in making that possible.”
All proceeds from the day’s events will benefit the Museum of the Waxhaws. The Museum is located at 8215 Waxhaw Highway, Waxhaw, NC. Contact them at 704-843-1832 or visit us on the Web at www.museumofthewaxhaws.com.
