(WESH) New 911 calls released on Monday paint a chilling picture of interactions between gunman Omar Mateen and police the night of the Orlando Massacre.
The calls are being released after a circuit judge ordered that they can't be kept from the public.
Several times throughout the calls, the shooter told the dispatcher he attacked the Pulse nightclub because he wanted the United States to stop air strikes in Iraq and Syria.
The shooting, which is the deadliest in United States history, claimed the lives of 49 people and left 53 others wounded.
