Police in search of missing Vale woman

[Update: Detectives say Shelia Carver, 34, has been located and is safe. Lincoln County Sheriff's Office did not clarify where she was found.]

LINCOLNTON, N.C. -- Lincoln County Sherriff's Office are asking for the public's help in locating a missing Vale woman, according to a press release from the sherriff's office.

Shelia Carver, 34, was reportedly at a residence in the 6400 block of Sandburg Trail in Vale Wednesday evening, before her husband and his two children left to go to Walmart in Cherryville. When they returned to the residence, they noticed that Carver was gone.

According to the Sherriff's Office, Carver is five-feet tall and weighs 90 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing blue jeans, a black and white jacket and carrying a large gray pocketbook.

Detectives say Carver, who was born in the Philippines, speaks limited English. 

The Sheriff's Office said Carver may have friends in Statesville, Lincolnton and the Charlotte area.
